WTF enacted new competition rules.
WTF has enacted new competition rules. Master Seung Hwang Kim, USAT National Referee Chairman, has advised that the new rule changes will be implemented at the 2017 US Open (Las Vegas), Texas State Championships (Fort Worth) and USAT Nationals (Detroit).
Major changes in WTF Rules Upcoming USAT-Sanction referee seminar
These are major changes to the previous rules. President Inseon Kim highly recommend your attendance at the referee seminars, indicated below, in preparation for the Texas State Championships. The literal reading of the new rules and the actual interpretation and application can be two different things. That is why it is very important for you to attend. Attendance will count toward your USAT referee classification upgrade requirements.

MARCH 4 (Kyorugi). Instructor: Master Seung Hwan Kim, USAT National Referee Chairman
MARCH 11 (Poomsae). Instructor: Grandmaster Raymond Hsu, USAT Poomsae Referee Instructor

The TEXAS STATE TKD CHAMPIONSHIPS will be held on March 17-18, 2017 at the Fort Worth Convention Center, Fort Worth, TX. Your participation as an official referee is very much needed and will be greatly appreciated. Referee registration will be posted soon on HangAStar.
NOTICE: To officiate at the Texas State Championships, the following is required: USAT Referee Classification (or WTF IR), current USAT membership and current background check. First-time referees attending the March 4 seminar will be eligible to officiate at the Texas State Championships. Go to HangAStar (see link above) to update USAT membership, background check and to register to referee.

Events include Sports Poomsae, New Poomsae, Palgae, ITF, WTF (Team/Pairs), Sparring, Self-Defence 1, Self-Defense 2, Breaking, Weapons & Weapons Sparring. Payments must be postmarked by November 26, 2017
Late Pre-Registration:$10 late charge for each event.
General Admission:$5 for all day Saturday - Children 4 & under are FREE
Competition Rules & Regulations:The current USA Taekwondo Rules and Regulations and the modified rules of World Taekwondo (WT) will govern this championship.
All Ages (6-14) Dedo Chest Pad and headgear and/or face conact is limited to light contact only.
Light head contact allowed all divisions (3 points)
Any strong contact to head is Gamjeom (Center Referee’s Call)
Using Protector Scoring System(PSS) for all divisions (e-Hoge and e-Helmet) (Daedo Gen 1)
You can purchase or rent the Daedo socks
Mandatory Equipment:1. Clean, white WT v-neck uniform
2. All competitors must wear approved chest guard, headgear, shin-instep guard, forearm guard, protective cup, and mouthpiece.
All competitors must supply their own protective gear.
Medals/Awards:All Divisions - medals awarded to 1st, 2nd, and two (2) 3rd place
for Poomsae, Sparring, Breaking, Weapons & Self Defence
Note:NO SMOKING, NO ALCOHOL & NO disturbing the PEACOCKS
